Media Messaging


The camera on your phone will allow you to have all sorts of fun. You can create your own photo and video albums, assign pictures to your friends' phone numbers, and create screen savers. The MTS Media Messaging service will allow you to share all of your special moments with friends and family.

Media Messaging allows you to:

  • Send and receive pictures and videos with friends and family.
  • Email pictures and videos to your personal computer.

The MTS Media Messaging service is also available through your personal computer at mmsweb.mts.net

Through your personal computer you will be able to:

  • Upload and send pictures or videos.
  • Send pictures from our online galleries.
  • Choose who you want to share your pictures or videos with

To get started using Media Messaging, simply send a picture or video message to a family member or friend. To provision access to the website, you will receive a text message with your online password shortly after sending your very first message. In the event that one of your friends does not have a picture/video messaging phone, he or she will be able to view your pictures and videos through mmsweb.mts.net.

Media Messaging is supported on the following MTS devices:

How do I take a picture or capture video with my MMS capable phone?

Please check your phone's manual as all phones are different.

How do I send a picture or video to a friend’s cell phone?

  1. Refer to your phone's manual for device specific instructions.
  2. On your cell phone or mobile device, go the main menu, then find the (Message) or (Mail) function, and press (OK).
  3. Select (Text Message) or (New Message) and press (OK).
  4. In the (Address), (Send To) or (Phone Number) screen enter the person's email address or mobile phone number*. the 10-digit cell number or short code that you are calling and press (OK).
  5. In the (Message) screen, attach your picture or video, then press (OK).
  6. Press (Send Message) key and your message will be sent.

* You can send multiple pictures or videos to 1 - 10 addresses at the same time. You will be charged per picture or video sent.

When can I add a voice memo?

1. Once you've opted to share your picture/video and entered all the recipients' information, you can add a voice memo through the options menu.
2. Select "OK", then record a voice memo of up to 10 seconds.

You'll know the memo is attached when you preview your picture and see a tape recorder icon on the top right hand side of your phone's screen.

How do I save a picture or video?

You can save your pictures/videos on your phone. Pictures stored here can be used as screensavers or for visual caller ID.

How do I delete a picture or video?

From the "Go to Pictures" category of the camera phone menu, select the picture or video you want to delete then from the options menu select "Manage", then "delete".

How do I make a picture a screensaver?

1. Take the picture.
2. Access the Options menu.
3. Save your picture to the phone.
4. Select the picture you'd like to use, then go to Options.
5. Choose "Apply As" then select either "Wallpaper" or "Screensaver".

How do I use my pictures for visual caller ID?

1. Make sure you have the phone number you'd like to associate the picture with stored in your Phone Book.
2. Take the picture.
3. Access the Options.
4. Save the picture in the phone.
5. Access the picture.
6. Select the picture you'd like to use, then go to Options.
7. Choose "Apply As" then select "Contact".
8. You'll be brought into your Phone Book – choose the number and press "OK".

How to view incoming media messages and get a picture/video onto your phone?

1. From your phones main menu select the messaging icon.
2. Select the picture and/or video message that you wish to view – the media message will be displayed.
3. From the options menu you can choose to reply, delete, forward, or store the message

I received a text message on my phone welcoming me to MMS. What is MMS and why am I receiving this message?

MMS is our Media Messaging Service. We are in the midst of making some changes to our wireless network, and as part of these changes we have launched Media Messaging as a replacement service for our old Picture and Video Messaging Service. MTS customers with compatible phones will receive a welcome message in the coming months as they are moved to the new service.

My phone no longer supports picture and video messaging. What is going on?

We are in the midst of making some changes to our wireless network, and as part of these changes we have launched Media Messaging as a replacement service for our old Picture and Video Messaging Service. Some of our devices will not be supported on the new platform. Please review the list of compatible phones.
