Wireless Coverage Map
NOTE: When travelling outside of Manitoba, it is important to understand that customers will not always get 4G coverage. As such, you will notice that our coverage maps outside of Manitoba are labeled as “GSM/HSPA” rather than 4G.
4G coverage: Data speeds are impacted by: traffic on the network, and device capabilities. The maximum speed of our 4G Wireless Network is 21 Mbps. However, most HSPA handsets MTS provides support a maximum speed between 3-14 Mbps. Today’s HSPA+ Internet Sticks are the exception, and can support up to 21 Mbps. Many factors affect speeds; actual speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Speeds are based on manufacturer information and reflect the maximum speeds that can be achieved under optimal conditions. Network speeds vary depending on user’s location and hardware. Actual coverage may vary depending upon customer equipment, antenna placement, topographic and weather conditions. 4G Network available with HSPA enabled device and SIM card.
CDMA coverage: Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) is an enhanced wireless data network that offers maximum data download rates of up to 3.1 Mbps. The 1X network provides customers with data speeds up to 163 Kbps. All coverage shown is approximate. Actual coverage may vary depending upon customer equipment, antenna placement, topographic and weather conditions. This map depicts the 2011 coverage for MTS as of March 2011. When traveling in the U.S., roaming voice and data charges apply.
