Do you have an old cell phone? Want to do something helpful for the environment?
MTS is recycling old, used cell phones and supporting Canadian environmental organizations with the proceeds.
Manitobans can now deposit their used cell phones and accessories in specially marked boxes at any MTS Connect Store throughout Manitoba, instead of having them end up in a landfill.
Every element of your old cell phone will be recycled and re-used, meaning its life cycle will continue long after its last call has been made.
All of the proceeds will go directly to the Green Action Centre, in its efforts to create awareness and reduce our collective impact.
Recyclable items include:
- Cell phones
- Cell phone batteries
- AC Cell phone adaptors, and
- Headsets.
MTS works with Greentec International, a world electronics recycling leader, to collect used cell phones to be reused, refurbished or recycled (and, thus, not end up in landfill sites).

IMPORTANT: Don't forget to clear any personal information such as contact names and phone numbers from your old cell phones before dropping them off at the nearest MTS Connect Store.
