The MTS Calling Card can be used to make calls or send faxes from just about any telephone - residential, office, hotel, cellular or payphone.

*To qualify for MTS Long Distance savings plan rates, calls must be placed using 1-888-554-9999 in Canada or the U.S. or the applicable International Access Number from international destinations. A transaction charge will apply to Calling Card calls.

Calling with peace of mind.

MTS provides a secure Calling Card platform. You can protect yourself from unauthorized use of your Calling Card by selecting your own PIN and keeping it confidential. You also have the option of restricting Calling Card calls to your home number. To activate this feature, your home number and your Calling Card number must be the same.

Allow 2 weeks for delivery of MTS Card Products through Canada Post.

Placing A Call:

From a TouchTone™ Phone (Rotary dial users follow steps 1-3 and then dial "0" to have an operator assist you.)

1. Have your MTS Calling Card and 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) ready.
2. Have the toll free Access Number for the country you are calling from ready. Check the Access Numbers and Rates.
3. If you're calling from a hotel, follow the hotel instructions to get an outside line. Please note some hotels may also apply a surcharge.
4. In Canada or the U.S. - Dial 1-888-554-9999 to access the Canadian Network. Use this number for calls within Canada, Canada to the U.S., the U.S. to Canada, within the U.S., from the U.S. to international destinations or Canada to international destinations.
   International Locations - Dial the country specific International Access Number.
5. Follow the voice prompts to select language choice (French or English) and payment method.

By using your MTS Calling Card, you can benefit from the applicable long distance charges detailed in your particular plan. The call will automatically appear on your MTS phone bill.

Note: Make sure to keep your PIN confidential. For Calling Card inquiries, to report a lost or stolen card, or to change your PIN, please call 1-866-227-3687 (1-866-CARDMTS), in Canada and the U.S. If calling from outside Canada or the U.S., call 204-225-5687 (204-CALLMTS) toll-free.

Please Note:

• Bilingual operators are available.
• When using your MTS Calling Card, you can place up to 5 calls in a row without hanging up. Press "#" after each call and follow the voice prompts.
• Prepaid cards, or collect calls can also be used with this service.
• If at any time you encounter problems, press 0 and an operator will help you.
• A per-call transaction fee applies to Calling Card calls. When placing a call from another long distance carrier's equipment (such as payphones, business offices or hotel rooms), the carrier may apply a service charge to connect your call to our network.
• Please allow two weeks for delivery of MTS Card Products through Canada Post.
• Service may not be available from all telephones in a particular country.

To manually dial with a fax or modem using your Calling Card, follow these instructions:

1. Dial the Access Number of the country you are in.
2. When the call is answered, press 1 for English or 2 for French.
3. Press 1 to charge the call to your Calling Card.
4. Enter the number you are calling, including the area code.
5. Hit the pound key (#).
6. Enter your Calling Card number.
7. Hit the pound key (#).

Note: After dialing the access number, it will be necessary to create a pause as you wait for the voice prompts.

Fax

Sending a fax is as easy as entering the Access Number of the country you are calling from and the number you are calling. Then enter your Calling Card number and PIN.

While traveling, keep in touch as often as you like! All you need is your MTS Calling Card and the International Access Number for the country you are calling from.

The International Access Number connects you to the Canadian Telecommunications network and Canadian operators, to make calling home hassle-free. When using your MTS Calling Card, any applicable MTS long distance savings plan rates are automatically applied to your MTS phone bill.

Check below for the applicable per minute rates or you can also call 1-866-227-3687 (1-866-CARD-MTS) for a current list or to confirm rates.

If you are traveling to a destination not on the new International Access Number list, we recommend buying a Prepaid Card once you arrive in the country you are traveling to.

Transaction Charges

A per-call transaction charge applies to all Calling Cards.  Please check the table below for applicable transaction charges.

*Personal rates do not apply to all residential long distance plans. Personal rates apply to the following plans: Total Home Phone Package, First Rate™ 24/7, First Rate™ 15, First Rate™ 20, First Rate™ Unlimited, and First Rate™ Day or Night. If you subscribe to a long distance plan that is not included in this list, please contact MTS for applicable transaction charges.
