Roaming in the United States

When traveling throughout the U.S., MTS Allstream has extensive roaming agreements providing seamless access to digital coverage in over 500 cities across the US, covering 95% of the US population.

EVDO Roaming

Customers on an MTS Mobility High Speed (EVDO) data plan can enjoy high speed data roaming through MTS’s roaming partners in a growing number of Canadian and US cities. The EVDO cellular network provides customers with the ability to download applications, browse the internet and access emails and corporate directories with ease. Customers with an EVDO enabled device receive seamless interoperability and transitioning from EVDO to 1x coverage areas.

International Roaming

MTS offers international coverage in many countries including the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, Mexico, New Zealand, Venezuela and the Virgin Isles using the CDMA cellular network. MTS has alternative International Roaming options using the CDMA/GSM network which provides cellular communications to 140 countries worldwide. Because we continue to expand out international coverage, we recommend that you visit mts.ca/coverage or call 225-5687 (CALLMTS) for up-to-date information. And before you travel, visit an MTS Dealer or MTS Connect store to verify your phone's international capability.

Notes: Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) is an enhanced wireless data network that offers peak data download rates of up to 2.4 Mbps – with average speeds up to five times faster than 1X. 1X radio transmission technology is an enhanced digital wireless voice and data network. The 1X network provides customers with data speeds up to 156kbps. All coverage shown is approximate.
