4G stands for fourth generation and is the term used to refer to the new MTS HSPA+ network.

What is HSPA+?

HSPA stands for High Speed Packet Access.

The HSPA+ network currently covers 97% of the Manitoba population for both voice and high speed data services.

For MTS, launching a 4G network keeps us current and strengthens our commitment to innovation and our customers.

What is GSM/HSPA?

When travelling outside of Manitoba, it is important to understand that customers will not always get 4G coverage. As such, you will notice that our coverage maps outside of Manitoba are labeled as "GSM/HSPA" rather than 4G.

What is CDMA?

CDMA is the term used to refer to our CDMA-EVDO network. The CDMA-EVDO network currently covers 97% of the Manitoba population for voice service, and 72% for wireless data service.
